KV-2012H Code 70/83 6 Hole – 6 Bolt Joint Bars – $12.95

This set of joint bars fits code 70 and code 83 track.  The bars are the standard 6 hole with 6 bolts installed in a staggered pattern.  This joint bar would be most commonly found on the main or in some yards.  The set includes 200 joint bars.  It is highly recommended that you shave the spike heads at the base of the rail so that the joint bar can seat properly against the head, web and base of the rail.  When attached properly the flange of the wheel will not interfere with the joint bar.  Wheels being out of gauge as well as improper installation can affect this.

KV-2014H Code 70/83 to Code 55 Transition Joint Bars – $5.95

These joint bars fit code 70 and code 83 track on one end and code 55 track on the other.  They are used to transition between the different size rail.  It is highly recommended that you shave the spike heads at the base of the rail so that the joint bar can seat properly against the head, web and base of the rail.  We use these as mechanical joiners and solder them to the rail.  This is done by tinning both sides of the rail as well as the back side of the joint bar.  We then press the joint bars to the rail and hold in place with sprung tweezers.  Touch a hot soldering iron to the top of the rail head and that will melt the solder on the rail as well as the joint bar completing the solder joint.  When attached properly the flange of the wheel will not interfere with the joint bar.  Wheels being out of gauge as well as improper installation can affect this.  Each set contains 12 joint bars.
