GE U,B&C Handrail Stanchion Set A – $16.95
You are looking a set of HO scale etched GE handrail stanchions for the U,B and C series locomotives. The stanchions are made out of phosphor bronze and are strong as well as solderable! The set includes 3 different length stanchions (40 x 48″, 29 x 46″ & 10 x 44″) as well as 2 different length pilot drop step stanchions (4 x 48″ & 4 x 46″). They work perfectly with phosphor bronze wire for handrails. The stanchions have a tab at the top of the that bends over the handrail. Simply place the wire handrail against the raised top portion of the stanchion and fold the tab over the wire handrail. The stanchions have a pin at the base that is bent perpendicular to the stanchion and inserted into a hole drilled into the sill. CA is perfect for attaching the stanchion to the sill. The handrail can be soldered or CA’d to the stanchion. The tab is suitable to cover .015″ or .02″ diamater wire. We prefer .015″ wire for a more prototypical look. One the tab is folded over, any excess can be trimmed with a sharp X-acto knife. The pilot stanchion requires a fold which is shown in the photos. There is a small square hole which accepts the pin from a drop step allowing the drop step to pivot.
