EMD SW8,9,1200 Radiator Core Set – $7.50

This set is for the Proto SW8, SW9 and SW1200 locomtive’s radiator core.  The radiator core fits inside the shell underneath the long hood top screens.  The core is very visible when used with the top screens and is highly recommended for adding the much needed cool factor to an already heavily detailed model.  The core consists of 3 parts, the core base, radiator core and core top frames.  The photos show how the parts are assembled.  We chose to leave the core fins unpainted as that is the correct color for the fins and paint would diminish the fine detail.  The rest of the core can be painted grimy black or any other dull color.  CA is recommended for assembling the etched parts.
