DL&W/EL Upper Speed Sign Set #2 – $5.95
You are looking at a set of HO-scale etchings made by KV Models.The Lackawanna (DL&W) originally installed this on all their lines to remind engineers of the next speed restriction ahead in addition to the current speed restriction. This set includes (6) 30 signs, (6) 35 signs and (6) 40 signs and (6) 45 signs. These diamond shaped upper speed signs indicate the upcoming speed restriction. They were painted yellow. The signs have an etched line on the back side for installation of the post. We recommend .015″ phosphor bronze wire. These upper speed signs are to be used in conjunction with the lower rectangular speed signs which are available as a separate purchase. The reasoning behind the a-la-carte style of purchasing the signs is because depending on the area you are modeling, you will need different speeds and in different quantities. It would be impossible to craft the perfect one-size-fits-all set and you would always be left with a large number of unused signs that don’t apply to your area of modeling. This style of set allows for the modeler to purchase what they need and in the numbers they need. This is a very unique detail that any EL or DL&W modeler needs on their layout.
