EMD E8/E9 Porthole Patch Panels – $12.95
This set replaces the porthole window panels with straight sheet metal. Several railroads removed the problematic porthole windows from the sides and replaced them with plain sheet metal. These panels replicate that modification. The porthole trim detail is removed leaving a flat surface for the etched panels to be attached to. The set includes 2 different kind of sand filler hatches as well. It is recommended that the paint is stripped from the mode prior to attaching the panels. Our sample engine was not stripped so the panels would show better in the photos. Below is a link for instructions on how to assemble the sand fill hatches.
