EMD SW8, SW9, SW1200 Pilot Modernization Set – $6.00

This set is used on the pilot when the cast on footboards are removed.  Footboards were removed as a safety improvement to keep trainmen from being run over while riding the pilots.  The removal of the footboards required the addition of sheet metal to close up the pilots.  This set is attached to the pilot below the coupler.  There is a hole in the plate for the addition of the air hose with angle cock.
